i work with this person who reminds me of a few good friends of mine.
being around him makes my heart ache.
i miss my friends.
no one to hang out with and do stuff with here.
just me and my crappy old computer that barely works.

i have so much energy i don't know what to do with myself.
i feel like decorating for christmas
OR working on one of the five portraits i've started
OR teaching myself how to crochet, because i've always wanted to learn
OR working on the photography project i've created for myself in my head that i still have yet to start
OR find the nutcracker book that's in the bottom of the bottom box in the back corner of the closet so i'd have something different and festive to play on the piano
OR finishing writing thankyou notes so the people who i'm so grateful for will know it before christmas rolls around
...but my toes are frigid because some gnome stole all my socks.
i just want to stay in my nest of blankets and snuggle with the cats.
it makes me crazy when i'm not working on my projects and being productive,
but i really just want to nap these short, quiet winter days away.
there's a godspeed you black empiror song stuck in my head
and coffee grounds in my fingernails.
